a little about me
About
I'm a Computer Science and Data Science double major in the University of Arizona's W.A. Franke Honors College, graduating in 2028. I spend my time working in full-stack development, conducting image-processing research through NASA Space Grant at Kitt Peak National Observatory, and mentoring Calculus II students. I also love exploring datasets, building small simulations, and helping more people get excited about computer science.

🏆 Best Insights, ASA DataFest 2026
ASA DataFest ASU/University of Arizona
Under a 48-hour deadline, our team (Machine Learning Learning Machines) analyzed a multi-million-row healthcare dataset to find where access to care breaks down. We modeled how patient visits fall off with distance from the hospital (about a 2% drop per mile within ~21 miles) to help pinpoint where new clinics would have the biggest impact, and found that patients with chronic conditions who used the MyChart portal averaged roughly 12 more visits over four years. Presenting those findings to industry professionals and statisticians earned us Best Insights among competing teams.
🎤 SUnMaRC Presenter, Spring 2026
Battleship Neuroevolution
I built a neuroevolution-based Battleship simulation that trained offensive and defensive strategies on a 10×10 board through repeated gameplay. The model evolved its decision-making over many simulated games and was evaluated against simpler search strategies.
The trained strategy averaged about 45.5 moves per game, compared with 97 for random search and 67 for hit-chasing. I presented the project and its results at SUnMaRC 2026 in Northern Arizona University.
